Oliver Savage Says:
Pretty funny, I live in Anchorage the largest city in Alaska and have seen notices such as these before while on trips. The amazing thing is that even here in the city you run into bears. A few years ago as I was walking up the drive to my office, and a black bear came around the corner of the building. I decided to hurriedly go back down the drive. The bear took his time, finally ambled down to the street and went up the hill. Didn't need coffee to wake up that morning. I have run into black bears on many other occasions, and I just go the other way, no problem. Grizzlies certainly are the ones to be worried about. http://www.absc.usgs.gov/research/brownbears/attacks/bear-human_conflicts.htm
